Future Connections wins ‘Best new Catalyst in show’ award as member of the ‘Converged access for ODA’ project team at Digital Transformation World ‘22

Future Connections contributes to the simplification and convergence of a network project by driving the assurance component of an innovative converged access model

27th September 2022 – Etten-Leur, Netherlands

Future Connections, the experienced telco solutions provider and integrator specialised in network performance assurance and optimisation through automation and in telco managed services, today announced it is part of the winning team of the ‘Best new Catalyst in show’ award at Digital Transformation World ’22.

The Catalysts proof-of-concept program is annually run by TM Forum to drive and accelerate innovation in the telecom industry by promoting co-operation of multiple ecosystem players from around the world – vendors and operators – to solve common industry challenges. The outcome of the work of more than 30 catalyst projects was on display last week at Digital Transformation World ’22 in Copenhagen as integral part of the event agenda, specifically designed for all telco industry players to share groundbreaking innovation, market developments and business transformation journeys. After a rigorous scrutiny and assessment by independent judges, the best proof-of-concepts were recognised with coveted awards.

Driven by the same innovative spirit, this year Future Connections joined forces with the other members of the ‘Converged access for ODA’ team – e&, Incognito Software Systems, GCI Communication Corp., nbn® Australia, STL – Sterlite Technologies Limited, Telstra, Verizon, and VNPT Group – and shared its performance assurance and AI/ML expertise to design and develop together a highly desired reference model for the convergence of multiple access technologies following the ODA standards and using TM Forum OpenAPIs. The solution devised leads to a unified, coordinated, multi-access and multi-vendor converged network, delivering simplicity, convergence and reduced costs of ownerships to network operators as well as much improved quality of experience to end users.

The collaborative and innovative work of the team was praised and recognised by the judges with the ‘Best new Catalyst in show’ award. “We are delighted to be recognised by the TM Forum with this award and proud to be part of a team that developed collaboratively a truly ground-breaking solution with the acknowledged potential to bring considerable positive benefits to our industry”, says Future Connections’ CTO Alejandro Medina. “By putting our expertise together with the one of other players within the telco ecosystem we have demonstrated that we can accelerate innovation to the benefit of both operators and end users”.
